Bigad Khloussi

Music Director

Bigad is a graduate of Westminster Choir College and holds a B.M. in Music Theory and Composition. For several years he ran his own private studio (with 30-40 students) teaching piano, voice, guitar, theory, and/or composition. Overlapping that was his time at The Academy of Music on Main Street (AMMS) in NJ where he also taught privately some 40 students or more, and also created the AMMS Theory/Composition Department, which he headed during his time there. He has been commissioned to write pieces for fellow friends and colleagues, and his bulk of work is rapidly growing as a young composer. In 2006 he started a rock/alternative band, which has gone through several different members, and hopefully will find stable grounds in 2010. As of late, he has been music directing the main stage musical productions at City Lights Youth Theatre, a skill he acquired when he student music directed shows in college. Bigad is also no stranger to the stage: since middle school he has been in countless choirs, musicals, and various musical productions. Though this background does seem scattered and eclectic, it is bound together by his love of creating, music, and teaching. Bigad is a firm believer that, when teaching, the student is first before the subject, and that “true” knowledge comes from a personal connection to the subject matter, which can be best achieved through creating.

Bigad is the Music Director for Aladdin Jr. with our Musical Theater Class.
