Fantasy Forest - May 15, 2005

Fantasy Forest is our second original fairytale turned into a dance-play, written by Shari as well with even better virtual sets by Matthew. Fantasy Forest opens with a powerful, intense dance by four fantasy creatures: unicorns, griffens, pixies, and dragons. One creature, Penelope Pixie thinks that she must find her magical power by age 13 or she will lose all her friends. She watches all of the creatures, even the baby creatures, display their talents through dance and bemoans her situation. On her thirteenth birthday, just as she fears the worst will happen, the creatures of Fantasy Forest throw her a surprise party. Penelope realizes that she had the power all along, the power to trust herself and her friends. She joins her fellow creatures in a celebratory dance.
Shari's inspiration for this show came from science fiction novels. Company favorites from Fantasy Forest are: "Emerge", "Skipping Dance", "Ooh Child", and "Lil' Bow Wow."
