5th Year Anniversary Broadway Show - May 21, 2006

We celebrated our 5 Year Anniversary with a fantastic Broadway-themed show at Brooklyn Friends. Dance pieces included "Come On Everybody" from All Shook Up," One" and "Opening Number" from Chorus Line," Blackbird" from Fosse, "Hakuna Matata" from Lion King, Swing Mix from Swing, "Hair" from Hair, "Mama I'm a Big Girl Now" and "You Can't Stop the Beat" from Hairspray, "Will I" from Rent, "Pressure" from Movin' Out, "We Dance" from Once on the Island, and more! In the show, one boy who loved Broadway was instant messaging another boy who loved pop music and who thought that "broadway was for lame geeks." They decided to share music to teach other some things and while they did, the music mixed, which produced the fabulous dance mixes to which our dances performed. In the end, the 2 boys turned out to be brothers, and they each learned a little something. Before the show began, five of the dancers who have been dancing with UpBring since the first year in 2001 gave a brief speech reflecting on the early years and on how much they and they company have grown. It was a fantastic show and one we will remember forever!
