Shana Cloud was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. She began dancing at the age of 5 with the Ruth Williams Dance Studio, where she was trained in Ballet, Tap, and Body Percussion. At the Horace Mann School (1996-2002), she broadened her exposure with Japanese fan dancing, Irish step, and Tango as an avid member of the musical theatre program. And during her undergraduate years at Harvard College (2002-2006), she served as co-director for the only HipHop company on campus, the Expressions Dance Company; while studying for a B.A. in Sociology and Spanish. Currently, Shana is a member of the 2006 TeachForAmerica Corps and serves as a 1st grade bilingual teacher with the Department of Education, and as the dance instructor for its Saturday Arts Enrichment Program. Shana is excited to be a member of the UpBring team, and hopes she will inspire her students to love dance the way she always has.
Shana teaches TnT and Touring Company.
