Aurea Sanabria is a native New Yorker with a background in dance and design.  At 13, she joined the Starlite Dance Company, with whom she has performed Mambo routines and designed many costumes for. Having graduated from the H.S. of Fashion Industries with Honors, she learned essential sewing and tailoring techniques which have been the foundation for her work in the years that have followed.  Along with being a member of the school's dance and drama clubs, she wore many hats as the Assistant Director, Choreographer, Clothing and Costume Designer for the Annual Senior Fashion Show, where she won a Golden Needle Award for her original design inspired by Broadway's The Lion King. Next she attended New York's own F.I.T., where she earned a degree in Fashion Design, specializing in Children's Wear. Aurea moved on to Hunter College to study Theatre Production, in which she has designed for A Doll's House and Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.  Currently working to open a boutique featuring her own clothing line in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, she also designs and creates Cos-Play, Halloween, and Purim costumes.  She looks forward to designing for Upbring's Fall semester, and plans on dazzling the audience for many shows to come!!!

Aurea is the Costume Designer for the Performance Dance Classes, TnT, TC, Hip Hop, and Toddler Dance.
